Hazara University Holds 9 th Convocation

ONLINE REPORT: – The 9th convocation of Hazara University Mansehra held here at
Multipurpose Hall of the University. On this occasion Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Eng.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, was the chief guest. He gave away degrees to 300 graduating students
including 119 Gold Medals. He congratulated the students and appreciated the University for
providing quality education to the students. The Vice Chancellor Hazara University Prof. Dr.
Muhammad Idrees thanked the Governor for awarding degrees to the graduating students.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra while addressing the convocation congratulated the passed-out graduates and
said that the graduates of this university have now joined different positions of dignity and
respect inside and outside the country and bringing a good name to their alma-mater. All these
phenomenal achievements bear testimony to the committed role of its faculty, management and
staff under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Idrees in steering the affairs of the university
on approved lines in a smooth and orderly manner.
The Governor further asserted, “I appreciate the efforts of Hazara University for holding the
national and international conferences in its different departments recently which earned a great
reputation across the universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan. Such conferences
provide golden opportunity for the researchers and academicians to share their innovative new
discoveries in the ongoing research.”
On this occasion, The Vice Chancellor Hazara University Prof. Dr. Muhammad Idrees said, “I
expressed my profound greetings to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Eng. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra,
passed-out graduates, their parents and distinguished guests for their participation in this hi-
profile academic ceremony of the university. The enrolment of the university had already
exceeded 13000 students. Students from all over the country as well as foreign ones from Saudi
Arabia, Maldives and many Afghan nationals have been studying over here. Our 700 research
publications in the journals of international repute were recognized and accredited at national
and international level. We have managed to attract more than 150 PhD at this remote rural
location where even the basic facilities of life are hard to find.”
“Hazara University had also produced about 86 PhDs and more than 2500 MPhil scholars in
recent years besides thousands of graduates”, he added
The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, MPAs Nawabzad Wali
Muhammad & Abdul Sattar, District Nazim Sardar Sayed Ghulam, Vice Chancellors of various
Universities, faculty members, present and students were also participated in the ceremony.
